A baby shower is a gift giving party for the mom-to-be, the couple or for celebrating the arrival of a baby. The host of the bridal shower is generally a close friend or a group of friends or a relative. Each host wants to plan the baby shower, starting with a theme to coordinate the party around - and also to make it exciting for the guests to want to not miss this very special event. Guests purchase a gift from a list of registered stores that the mom-to-be has checked off for the new arrival. A unique theme can be planned with a party centered with a sweet treat for the sweet arrival!
The candy theme baby shower process starts by sending out a unique ‘candy theme’ invitation that will allow the guests to get excited about the party and make sure they jot it down on their calendar as an event not to miss. What could be more fun than a baby shower centered around ‘fun, colorful, personalized and delicious candy’! A fun invitation with candy attached or a candy theme picture on it will tip off the guests to what they can expect when they attend the especially sweet treat event. It’s always fun to receive an invitation with an edible treat attached! The invitation can match all the other items for the party so you have a ‘one stop shop’ and your party will all be coordinated beautifully. A matching reply card can be included for the guest to respond if they can attend, so you will have an idea of how many guest to plan for. When choosing an invitation, you should choose a company that offers invites with lots of style, whether it be polka dot fun, elegant damasks, or a whimsical flair. An added plus is a company that lets the buyer choose not only the design but also chooses their colors for their party with coordinated ribbon and other adornments added to the invitation. Sometimes there is a special theme that is dear to the mom-to-be such as baby feet, baby rattles, multiples, or even a combination of a baby announcement and a Baptism or Christening Day. A company that has an on staff artist that can incorporate your special theme can be a great plus to purchase from them.
If the party calls for the guests to be seated at tables, candy centerpieces in the center of each table can be the focal point of the luncheon or dinner party. It can be unique to buy from a company that sells personalized pre-wrapped candies that are adorned with bows, and it all fits into a glass vase. Dollar Tree is a good place to find reasonable priced vases. If it’s a buffet candy bar, a few candy arrangements can be chosen as well as individual candies such as mini Hershey bars, swirling lollipops, trident gum favors, lifesavers candies, M&M’s, and skittles candies with matching design labels. Candy Centerpieces can be used at the tables or on a buffet table in lieu of flowers, and each candy item will be a favor for the guest to take home at the end of the party. Each candy item will have a label with the event name, the mom-to-be’s name and the date of the event on the personalized card, label or tag attached to the candy. All of this can be done in colors to match the party theme colors. Matching design of table number cards or header cards can adorn the top of the centerpiece. The design can be matching to the invitations they have received. Other decorations can be a matching design on a banner or sign, cupcake wrappers, napkin rings and cupcake toppers. If your party has table seating, a matching candy theme design place card can be used with the table number and have the name of the guest written on it. Candy can even be attached to the place card to make it even more special. A fun idea is to use the candy invite as a menu card for guests if a lunch or dinner is served. If a plain menu card is used, select a company with matching designs for the menu cards which can also be included in the invite as a reply card with their meal checked off.
Candy can also be added to favorfulls, a clear plastic container adorned with a personalized design and a topper bow to use as center pieces or as special gifts for the guests. Favorfulls can be filled with M&M’s, skittles, Hershey Mini Chocolate Bars, gumdrops, coated chocolate almonds, gum balls, or other bite sized candy. The candy centerpieces can also be a door prize for the event and have a drawing at the end of the shower to find out who the lucky winners will be. Don’t forget to order matching thank you cards or personalized note cards in a matching design for the bride to thank her guests. These can also make great gifts for the mom-to-be as well as for the dad-to-be. If games are to be played, a guest can be blindfolded and then let them guess the flavors of the lollipops or candy sticks. Another idea is to fill a gum ball machine with gum balls and have guest guess the number in the machine.
A candy theme baby shower offers a fun party filled with color, designs and fun tasting treats for your guests and make this a party they will always remember. Don’t forget a great thank you slogan: ‘It was sweet of you to come!’
